Universities and conferences welcome more and more people who don't master the language of the session, and accessibility is increasingly expected. We're exploring a one-to-many tool: the speaker talks as usual and each person in the audience follows the session on their phone, with captions and translation in their language.
Nobody should miss a class because of the language.
Real-time transcription of what's said in the classroom or on stage.
Each person picks their language on their own device.
Glossaries so technical terms and names are recognized correctly.
The session's text, available to review.
It comes from two pilots. At a university school, international students followed classes taught in Spanish on their phones, in their own language: speech recognition, machine translation and speech synthesis chained together, with a lapel mic for the teacher. With an emergency medical service we tested face-to-face translation in ambulances, without storing anyone's voice.
Universities and schools with international students, conference and event organizers, and public services that attend people who don't speak Spanish.
Subject-specific terms are transcribed poorly without a glossary, and very long sentences arrive late. With many classes a week, cost matters as much as quality. It also doesn't yet solve how a student asks a question when they don't understand something.
We pick a course or session with you, build the glossary with the teaching staff or organizers, and measure delay, errors and user experience in real conditions.
