Monoceros Labs, officially listed as a featured Amazon Alexa agency
A few days ago, Amazon published the official list of partner agencies in Spain for building voice apps (called Alexa Skills) for Alexa, Amazon’s voice assistant.
Monoceros Labs, one of the first studios in Spain specializing in conversational experiences, is now a recognized Amazon Alexa agency on that list, which highlights our Alexa Skills services: strategy, design and development. Besides being a great honor for us, it’s a big boost for the growth of our studio.
The purpose of Amazon’s list is to help companies and brands that want to be on Alexa find agencies to guide them along the way, from ideation to prototyping and building voice apps (Alexa Skills) that extend the Alexa assistant.
What’s the list of featured Amazon Alexa agencies for?
Amazon’s list includes agencies with experience conceptualizing, designing and developing Alexa skills. It offers real benefits both to companies looking for the right provider for their project and to skill developers.
Agencies listed as “Featured agency” can use this recognition as proof of their real experience and know-how in skill development, and to raise their visibility with companies looking for the right agency for their project.
Each featured agency gets support from Amazon, such as training and documentation, to help it improve its expertise in designing and building voice interfaces (also known as VUIs, Voice User Interfaces). Being a featured agency also means going through a more thorough certification process to ensure the quality of the conversational experiences it builds.
Why should I be on voice interfaces?
Voice assistants such as Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri, Cortana or Bixby can respond to users’ spoken instructions. Voice isn’t just the most natural way we communicate; often it’s the only way we can interact with technology, or simply the most convenient one (when we’re cooking or driving).
That lets people ask general questions, control technology (smart bulbs and other appliances in the smart home category) or interact with skills or apps built by third parties, such as games, stories, local information or routines.
Companies launching Alexa skills reach new customers through Amazon Alexa, via the Echo family of devices such as the Echo Show and Echo Dot (and, in the not-too-distant future, Fire TV), in homes, offices, schools and even cars.
